China's Censors Saying No To Time Travel
A strong mix of economic strength and social control often divides China's political policies. Chinese censors have recently released a new list of items that might be censored. This list especially highlights the social control of the country. These restrictions could be very difficult to understand for some. The Chinese government bans another movie
In a statement released on March 31, China's government stated that movies, television shows, and programs that "contain fantasy, time-travel, random compilations of mythical stories, bizarre plots, absurd techniques, even propagating feudal superstitions, fatalism and reincarnation, ambiguous moral lessons, and a lack of good thinking" should be discouraged. The ban believes that these shows "go against Chinese heritage."
Stopping all problems
The pro-democracy advocates have been stopped a lot by China recently according to Amnesty International. The recent protests in many middle eastern nations seem to have spooked the Chinese government. Several artists in China have also been arrested. The Communist Party controls the Chinese political and social systems. The party does everything it can to stay in control. The country can't get out of hand. Economically, China is working towards a fully capitalist system, though the social and political controls of the Communist party often come into conflict.
Control in China can only get stronger
In China, the economic freedom has gone up. At the same time, there has been more of a crackdown on censorship. Google decided it should just quit in 2010 in China when operations were shut down. In China, American films and shows do play. There are edited quite a bit first. Shows where teenagers go back in time 2,000 years or more are very interesting to the Chinese right now. That is what has become popular along with fantasy. Most people have not seen if time travel will be allowed by Chinese censors; only time will tell.
